Here are six things I want to share with you this week…
1. We had an amazing weekend as we wrapped up our series #Hashtaglife.
45 people through 3 services made a first time decisions to place their hope of salvation in Jesus Christ! That’s unbelievable! (if you missed any weeks in this series you can check them out here)
2. Time for a FreshStart!
If you’ve recently made a decision to follow Christ for the first time or you’ve rededicated your life to Jesus, or you simply want to learn more about the fundamental principles of the faith – I would invite you to check out the FreshStart class this coming Sunday.
3. This past Sunday’s message in forgiveness was particularly challenging as many relationships are right now in the battle of their life.
Here’s 2 verses that I hope will help change your perspective regarding the offenses in your life.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And remember while it may be the most difficult thing you’ve ever done to pray for those that hurt you, and that you “don’t feel like it…” You don’t pray and forgive to change their heart – You pray and forgive to change your heart.
4. New Series This Sunday
This coming Sunday we are beginning a brand new series called The Walking Dead and I’m super pumped. I’ll be doing a rendition of “Monster Mash” that’s going to be killer.
Okay…so that last part wasn’t true, but our creative team does have a few tricks up their sleeve for this series and it’s going to be fun. And just to be clear, NO the series is not based on the popular AMC show The Walking Dead – so don’t get your underwear in a bunch. However, I can neither confirm nor deny that I may or may not be running in the Zombie 5k this Saturday and passing out Walking Dead invites to the runners and zombies.
5. On Monday I am leaving for what I believe will be the one of the single greatest experiences of my life.
I’m headed to Israel with Pastor Perry Noble and a group of pastors that are part of a leadership intensive study. I have never been, but I understand that it will radically change the way I study and preach God’s word. I will be posting thoughts and pics of this journey on instagram and twitter so you can follow me here if you want keep up with this amazing journey.
6. The clock is ticking and we only have 47 more Sundays of Elevate Church in our current location.
The school district of Erie has been extremely gracious and a pleasure to work with, and now our time there is coming to an end. What may appear to be an “oh crap” moment, is actually an amazing opportunity to rely solely on God and His provision. This is not a surprise to God and I believe that an Upgrade is on the horizon! Keep praying and asking God to do the impossible!
See you Sunday…
