6 Thoughts on the Week

6 Thoughts on the Week

By October 1, 2014 Thoughts No Comments

Wow!  What an incredible weekend we just had! Here’s why…

1. Rock the Lakes was crazy!
Over 13,000 people came out to hear the gospel during Rock The Lakes and over 1,000 of those made first time decisions for Christ or re-dedicated their life to follow Jesus!  The Kingdom of God just gained massive ground in Erie, PA!

2. This past Sunday at Elevate we saw 32 people make decisions to put their hope of salvation in Jesus Christ!  I’m constantly blown away by all that God is doing in our church.

3. #QuickFix: Finding Freedom
Following our #QuickFix message last week, hundreds of you that indicated you are desperately seeking freedom from addictions and things that have control over your life.  Look…it’s Wednesday and things are already getting tough and you might already feel as though you want to throw in the towel and give up on what God started in your heart.

Listen..don’t quit!

You do everything possible that you can do in the natural and allow God to do what only He can do in the supernatural.  Remember that His grace is all you need.  And that the areas in your life where you are the weakest are His greatest platform to demonstrate His strength. Read the MSG version of 2 Cor. 12:8-10. This may be exactly what you need today.

4. Elevate Groups
Elevate Groups are getting ready to kick off their fall semester in just a couple of weeks and by far one of the biggest reasons we hear that people don’t want to be part of a small group is because – “Well, I just don’t think I could commit that kind of time…”  Isn’t it funny how we can commit to watching our favorite TV shows (the average American watches 5 hours per day), or how we commit to surfing social media (averageAmerican spends 3 hours per day), but we can’t commit 90 minutes, once a week, with other people to study God’s word that’s actually going to help our lives!?  There is something truly jacked about that. And the reality is you and I weren’t meant to do life alone. If you’re not connected in a group, you’re missing out on some of the best that Elevate has to offer – authentic biblical community. Try it out for 6 weeks.

5. #SorryNotSorry
We’re wrapping up our #hashtaglife series this weekend with ‘#SorryNotSorry: Finding Forgiveness’. I think we’ve saved the best for last!  The 6pm service is back on and it’s going to be rowdy.  If you’ve been searching for forgiveness or you need to let go of an offense, you are not going to want to miss this Sunday.  Can’t wait!

6. 48 More Sundays
As most of you are aware we only have the school for another 48 Sundays.  After that ? Well…I truly believe that through this process, God is positioning and preparing his church to have the greatest impact in our city.  We know for a fact we are moving on to bigger and better things – we just don’t have a clue as to what that is?  And I’m cool with that, because whatever it is, it’s more amazing than I could ever think or imagine (Eph. 3:20).  So get ready, church! Keep praying and hang on because it’s going to be an unbelievable ride!

See you this Sunday!
